Exercise Room
To the left is a picture of an exercise room. We have an exercise room at Computech that looks somewhat like this, but smaller. This is our unit right now along with badminton. We are working out and getting in shape while practicing for our test in muscles and parts of the body. We are working out our legs, core, and arms all in the same day. This didn't bother me to much since I have been in hardcore sports before and our conditioning was crazy exhausting, but I enjoyed getting to learn all the new tools and machines. Some of them I never used before. We are also studying with a partner while we work and I know a few such as the triceps, quadriceps, deltoid, trapezius, rhomboids, quadriceps, and the obliques, but there are afew more we need to memorize.
Badminton
The unit we will be doing for the next few weeks is badminton. We also did a worksheet at home for the history of badminton, but we do everything else in class. Badminton is played by with a racket and a birdie. The birdie is also known as a shuttlecock. We play with partners but you can also play solo. The net is normally four feet high, but I think we use taler ones. We normally play badminton outdoors, and we do a rotating system. The system we use is played ono eight courts, with four players each, and if you win you move to the next lowest number, and if you lsoe you go to the next highest number. The obvious objective is to get to court number one. So if you were on court three and you lost, you would move to court four. If you were to win on court three you would then move along to court two. I think badminton is really fun to play, and Mr. Brown is very hard to beat at badminton so be aware!!!
Jumprope
The picture to the left is a jumprope. We did jumprope for about two weeks. Durnig the jumprope unit we learned many new techniques and tricks of how to use the rope. We leared some tricks such as the bell, the skier, the cross, the can-can dancer, an the twist. My personal favorite was teh double jump, but that was not one of the tricks we were supposed to learn how to do, I just already knew it. After learning and practicing these tricks with a partner for a while we then were to make up a routine that demonstrated eight of the tricks that we learned. We were also supposed to have a partner and the routine needed to be syncrinized. I was partners with Emily and we started off with the double swins across, and soem other htings we demonstarted were the wounded duck and the scissors. We got a 10/10, which is 100%! We did a good job in the routine together. This was a good thing for me to do because I have done jummprope much in the past.
